VIDEO RECAP: WEEK 22
Hello Morocco! It was an epic journey to arrive, but any tribulations were quickly discarded as I began to soak up the deliciousness that this culture has to offer. Such as epic-looking desert head scarves.

[MAY 30] To get to my June dune destination, I took the long way.

[MAY 31] Sometimes I have to throw away my pride and “coolness” factor, and do as the tourists do. Riding the big red double-decker bus feels a bit like a cattle call, but it sure does help to get a better understanding of the city I’m visiting.

[JUNE 1] On April 28 (2011), Marrakech’s famous plaza (Jamaa el-Fna) was startled by a blast that left 17 dead and scores wounded. It happened at the popular tourist hangout of Argana Cafe. This is what it looks like today.
* * *
[JUNE 2] As I was walking through the plaza yesterday, I came across this group of little people. They were learning how to be activists. It warmed my heart.

[JUNE 3] There are so many books in the world. And with a limited amount of time, it’s hard to choose what to read. That’s why I let you, my faithful friend, decide what I should be reading. Tell me your thoughts
* * *
[JUNE 4] Marrakech is crazy at any given moment, but throw in the anticipation of a national football match, and the place is practically vibrating. I take you from my humble hotel room and into the famous plaza where Marrakech is alive with people.
* * *
[JUNE 5] As I prepare for my camel ride in the desert, these guys help me get my scarf on, so I can, you know, look the part. They told me it was called “le chache,” but I couldn’t find any evidence of this word. Anybody know the real term for a desert head scarf? Keffiyeh?

Re: Bookclub – I’m going with “Arabian Nights”! I get the impression that you’ve already devoured the other choice.
Oprah’s couch is on the curb ready for pick up, find it, Canamerica needs to know what to read
love the head scarf video – get your scarf on !
You’ll have to practice putting on “the desert scarf” (shemagh/keffiyeh) so when you get home you can impress us with your arab skills – it suits you!! Love It!!! the guy at the shop made it look easy!!
Not gonna lie, the first half of that is truly not much different than what I do every morning when I wrap my wet hair up in a microfibre towel…I think it would scare the crap outta my cat if I came out with it wrapped around my face though….
