The Conversationalist

It’s been a fun and relaxin’ past couple of weeks in France. Much of the merriment was due to the good company.

For instance, Chip & Natalie have been a barrel of good times. We shovel dirt together, and then share good meals and bottles of wine. And they even laugh at my jokes!

I’d like you to meet them.

Who are you?

Chip: My name is Charles Andrew Harmon… but my doods and doodettes and family call me Chip. Heyo, where y’at?

Natalie: My name is Natalie Afoma Ugochi Nnawuihe-Simpson…or Napsy for short.

Where are you from?

C: New Orleans (to the locals – NOLA, nawlins, crescent city, big easy, heaven on earth), LA babyyy…

N: I’m a brownie – half Nigerian, half English!

What do you do?

C: I just finished a year of teaching English to little Frenchies. NOOW, I volunteer on a monastic farm learning skills from a Frenchy, THEEN, plan to work on a vineyard.

N: I’m about to start my final year studying languages at UCL, and just finished my year abroad spent equally in Nimes and Bologna.

To where are you traveling?

C: Just around the river-bend.

N: Down the yellow brick road.

How’d you love-birds meet?

N: He stalked me for a month so I took pity on him. True story.

C: What she said.

What’s been your favorite destination (and why)?

C: Sicily

N: Sicily

C: jinx!

N: jinx!

C: *giggles* stooop it!

N: Aw, we’re so cute! Luh you, mwah!

What type of dish best represents your hometown?

C: Boiled Crawfish

N: Jollof Rice, Plantain and Suya J

What’s the most important item you carry with you?

C & N: EACH OTHER!

N: But for cereal, my ipod.

C: My polka dot boxers.
