A lot of moonlight in these quotes…

    • danielbaylis 3 September 2010 at 1:04 PM #

I suppose there’s a lot of moonlight in me, too.

Can one OD on inspiration? I’m bookmarking this and returning to it for small sips.

If I must choose one, it would be:

“I can change the story. I am the story.” – Jeanette Winterson

It speaks of hope and empowerment; that what has been need not be what will be.

    Thanks – love the blog.

I’ve never heard of any recorded inspiration ODs. But I do believe that a good quote is like a fine porto, and should be consumed with a slow appreciate.

And thanks for your kind words, Ray. They are my own source of inspiration!

This is quite a nice collection.
I love quotes… I too find inspiration in them.

Among the many ones I love:

“My darling girl, when are you going to realize that being normal is not necessarily a virtue? It rather denotes a lack of courage! ”

    (from the movie “Practical Magic”)

It’s not a quote, but this May Sarton poem rocks my world every time I savor it.

It’s never too late to start again
Forgiveness is the most important thing
Each contact with a human is so rare, so precious, one should preserve it.

The last one comes on the heels of me taking way too many pics at our lake outing last night.

Hi there, I like this blog and I’m going to come back to it again and again. I love good quotes – they do inspire, which, I suppose, is why they have stood the test of time and still appear on pages like yours.
I particularly like the ones you show – they are short and to the point. In fact, if a quote is short, it leaves room – more room – for thought.
Keep adding quotes, and I’ll keep coming back for more.
    Many thanks

I’m a big fan of Beat poets, so I have to say Ginsberg’s and Kerouac’s thoughts stood out for me. Thompson’s quote also offers great insight, as well.

helpful words are always very simple. Simple words not useful who consumed complicated foods and drinks. simple words are for the simple living people only.
