[watched] GOOD HAIR

I loves me my documentary films. And the best documentary film, in my humble opinion, takes me to world where I’ve never been before.

In “GOOD HAIR,” Chris Rock takes us inside the fierce and financially lucrative world of black women’s hair. It’s a world where I certainly have not been before. It turns out that it’s a fascinating world of hair relaxers and weaves, with surprising international implications, economic exploitation and fierce hair-stylin’-performance-art competitions.

Mr. Rock does a great job of touching upon issues of race and class, while still exploring the subject matter with humor and curiosity.
